How Much Does CFD Trading Cost?
CFD trading costs are typically built into the spread—the difference between the buy (ask) and sell (bid) prices. A tighter spread usually means lower costs to enter and exit a position, which is especially relevant in fast-moving and highly liquid markets.
Costs can vary across asset classes. Depending on the market, traders may incur overnight financing fees (also called swap fees) if they hold a leveraged CFD position beyond a trading day. For example, commodities like gold may see wider spreads and more frequent price fluctuations. Meanwhile, trading indices like the DJ30 may encounter commission charges or overnight swap fees.
